Choosing the handgun
The accumulated wisdom of C Calvert Ward:
None of them are small enough to carry, and none of them are big enough to fight with
I’ve never been in a fight and wanted a cheaper gun
I’ve never been in a fight and wanted fewer bullets
I’ve never been in a fight and wanted a smaller gun
The first rule of a gunfight is: have a gun!
Choice of handguns
A .22 does not possess enough stopping power (they kill a lot better than they stop).
Shotguns are better at close range but are awkward in a confined space or in a struggle.
Handguns are the most practical weapon for personal defense — quick to bring into action.
